This is the first time I #regret being on a single user #mastodon instance.
Wanted to see some post about what is happening at #BurningMan and I have no relevant posts in my instance.
Before the #fediverse it was so easy to search for something on #Twitter.
@stefan@social.stefanberger.net I use relays catered to my interest. I use the one over at https://relay.fedi.buzz with a shitton of tags that interest me. In your case you could add a relay from there with the BurningMan tag, and you'll be drowning in those kind of posts in your global timeline.
@stefan@social.stefanberger.net Just be careful with adding the mastodon.social instance, I had to restart my server a few times before I could recover from all the traffic. I'll just stick to tags for now.
@trinsec that was also my thought. mastodon.social is also maybe too big of a townhall.
Will try hachyderm.io
Let’s see
@stefan @trinsec hachyderm.io is nice and they run on #renewableEnergy -> https://codeberg.org/GreenFediverse/green-instances #greenFediverse
Same for digitalcourage.social
More on #greenHosting -> https://lite.framacalc.org/green-webhost-ranking
@aligyie@digitalcourage.social Okay, but this is not totally relevant to our discussion? We're on our own servers.
@stefan@social.stefanberger.net
@trinsec when you follow a remote person or a complete instance then you are creating load on the remote server. If the remote server is green then it creates a lower co2 footprint than following a grey server.

@aligyie@digitalcourage.social
Fair enough. But I follow the servers for their theme. I'm following a few gaming servers for example.
Maybe @stefan@social.stefanberger.net has an use for this information though.
