On the outcome of the European elections: Many thanks to our 186.000 #Pirates voters in Germany. Congratulations to @marketkag who will be the last #Pirate to represent us in the new EU Parliament.
The bitter election result (due in part to our own mistakes) is a disaster for us, the progressive parties as a whole and for digital civil liberties. We will live to regret this. The conservatives and far right triumph, which will mean less #transparency and less #freedom – only mentioning #ChatControl and #EUGoingDark. None of this has even been discussed in the runup to this election.
If you are also shocked by this development and want to do something about it, I encourage you to:join the Pirate movement today and get involved so that we can do better and organise political countermeasures (including extra-parliamentary ones)! https://european-pirateparty.eu/members/
join a civil liberty organisation now and get involved in the resistance against a high-tech surveillance state! https://edri.org/about-us/our-network/
@echo_pbreyer Thanks a lot for all you great work over the last years. Unfortunately we are not allowed to vote for a German kandidate from the Netherlands. Time for European election lists!
@marketkag Congrats and good luck! You are THE EU EP Pirate now, so keep up the good work!
#chatcontrol
@echo_pbreyer @marketkag Thanks for all your work. :-(
@echo_pbreyer @marketkag Is there a place for homeless pirates? The UK party was shuttered so now I’m not sure how I can be involved.
@echo_pbreyer Thank you very much for all your years of hard work!
@echo_pbreyer @marketkag thanks for everything, due to you I voted Pirates in the Netherlands
@echo_pbreyer @marketkag We lost you when we needed you the most. Dark times are coming
