@echo_pbreyer It's not enough to openly oppose #CyberFacism aka. "#ChatControl":

  • It is important to proactively work towards unenforceability of such #FacistBullshit and consequently support the use of #OpenStandards with #SelfCustody of all the Keys - this includies teaching others to do the same.

Even if it's about using #XMPP+#OMEMO as well as #PGP/MIME over #Tor!

@kkarhan one would think that this must already be illegal, maybe Germany and Poland could view this proposal as a "rule of law" violation and take measures accordingly... well not gonna happen but maybe the sole possibility of anti "rule of law violation" measures could make them think twice.
On the other hand the EU could start to push trough with more widely accepted measures such as proposed by @echo_pbreyer and others patrick-breyer.de/en/posts/cha

maybe by passing those more member states would no longer view the #ChatControl as "#necessaryEvil" 🤔

@Nickname @echo_pbreyer TBH, I'm sick and tired of #cyberfacist|s like #Zensursula doing a "#CorrosionStrategy" on #HumanRights and #CivilRights.

  • We've all been "civil" on this debate yet the enemy side is still not about to concede despite being outcalled and unmasked as the #facist #PoliceState fans they are.

  • We don't have time to wait till they corrode further and try to deny peoples' right to remain silent and ban proper #E2EE.

It's important to enshure that any attempts to even selectively enforcing such legislation would be not just impossible but result in the exact & deserved counteraction:

Everything else is cowardice at this point!

  • Nobody cares about their human- and civil rights until they need to exercise them!

@echo_pbreyer Ironically, secrecy of messages is explicitly guaranteed in numerous member country constittutions. EU directives incompatible with this guarantee are supposed to be unconstitutional, something that most governments are not legally permitted to accede to.

@kkarhan No, neither of these rights works as you suggest in Civil Law legal systems. They apply specifically to overt criminal procedure.

@echo_pbreyer

@riley @echo_pbreyer It's not about just criminal procedures, it's about the right to not be subject to searches and seizures without a warrant.

  • I am sich and tired amidst the #CorrosionTactic of #cyberfacists, and the more aggressive they becone the more aggressively I demand backrolls of their shit!

@echo_pbreyer Hello, you say in your post the document was leaked by "Politico", can you help me understand, does this mean the news site Politico.com and if so where did Politico do this? The link goes to a PDF.

@mcc Hi, the newssite politico leaked it in a paid newsletter, so it's not online

@echo_pbreyer Thank you for your work on this issue! Just a minor bug report: the TLS certificate for www.chatcontrol.wtf expired yesterday.

@jeanas Thank you, I contacted my provider

@echo_pbreyer Discord already does this. But the AI that looks for this content is utter garbage.
Any random image can be considered bad according to Discord I do also think the flooding of police departments with unrelated images WILL happen. It is so bad it makes me really curious what happens if I do actually post such material (which is a terrible idea) and then see it failing to detect it as abuse material.
