ICE tortured a German green card holder living in New Hampshire to get him to give up his green card. He had no active issues in court. This is not the first person from a democracy to have disappeared. @EUCommission, you need to issue a travel warning, and you need to do it now.

Stefanie Janine Stölting

@erosalie @EUCommission Keep in mind, that US citizens have rights at the border with ICE, foreigners don't have any of these rights.
It is the complete opposite of Europe, where everyone has the same rights, no matter which citizenship.

@sjstoelting @erosalie @EUCommission that's nonsense, any country distinguishes between their own citizens and foreigners. Except for basic human rights like the right never to be tortured.

@sjstoelting @erosalie @EUCommission

No! Stop spreading misinformation.

Non US citizens have rights in the US and what the US state does is illegal on multiple levels.

Saying that non us citizens have no rights suggests that the US state is operating legally, which they are not. They are a Unrechtsstaat.

First of all all people in the US have human rights which the US has to follow.

And then you have here a good list of non us citizens rights:

@m @erosalie @EUCommission That is correct as soon as you have passed the border.
But before you are in and you are not having a residence in the USA, it's different.

@m @erosalie @EUCommission
Well I will never test your border agents again as I will not go to that country.
So, whoever takes the risk as a foreigner, should know that it has risks.
A friend of mine got his business notebook confiscated and it took more than six months until it good returned. Of course with fees for the delivery.
Another one was forced to unlock the business mobile at the border.

@sjstoelting @m @erosalie @EUCommission

I have traveled a lot. On whatever continent, border crossings are a rather polite formality. Except for my crossing from Canada to the U.S. at Niagara Falls, some years ago, which consisted of shouting, threatening and military style orders. If I hadn't booked my flight tickets already, I would have turned around the car and driven back to Canada.

@thpar @sjstoelting @erosalie @EUCommission

This is also the reason why i never visited the US in the first place.

They will treat you like shit and give a shit about laws or human rights.
