Prof. Stephen Hawking, the last comment on reddit:

“If machines produce everything we need, the outcome will depend on how things are distributed. Everyone can enjoy a life of luxurious leisure if the machine-produced wealth is shared, or most people can end up miserably poor if the machine-owners successfully lobby against wealth redistribution. So far, the trend seems to be toward the second option, with technology driving ever-increasing inequality.”

@sl007

We worked to fuck up our own life - really impressing.

@sl007 stephen hawking was a very based man, and his death was a tragic loss for humanity

@sl007
His life was a wonderful trick of fate to many people. Good to remember. 🙂

@sl007 For such a thing to work we'd first need to redefine 'wealth' from cash to quiche, cause monetarily speaking if everyone was rich no none would be 🍜

@sl007

A few years ago, a good friend of mine made a comment about the dystopian book I was reading, and how I should be reading William Gibson instead. I could only reply that cyberpunk stopped being fun when it became real.

@sl007 ( @dhfir repeated )
The question to ask is how to do wealth distribution in a decentralised way.
Projects like @duniter and joincircles.net/ are one answer.

@Hyolobrika @sl007 @duniter I'd say 3d printing shows an interesting way to make "the means of production" publically accessible, unless some fuckers with drm fuck it all up.
