Jennifer Parucci of NYT is currently talking how to extend IPTC MediaTopic with SKOS ( as in @skohub ) and wikidata.

@sl007 Thanks for the pointer, Sebastian. I am curious about their approach. For https://nwbib.de, we use Wikidata to create a SKOS classification of places in North-Rhine Westphalia.
