I am planning my route from my couch with @bikerouter and will be using @CoMaps for offline navigation since I don't have cellular service...
I've already used CoMaps' direct predecessor Organic Maps for offline navigation so I can definitely recommend #CoMaps if your ass is too broke to have cellular data, and so far #BikeRouter is also looking very helpful, especially if like me you are currently out of shape and want some elevation data for your route. #BikeTooter

#bikerouter ist top aktuell.
Ich wollte heute durch #hammereisenbach im #schwarzwald fahren. Aber es kamen nur wirre Routen durch den Wald bei raus. Weil? Die Hauptstraße saniert wird und gesperrt ist. Im Umfeld habe ich überall Umleitungsschilder gesehen. Klasse.
Eine neue Bike-Navigation-App. Noch Alpha aber kann schon getestet werden und funktioniert in den Basics.
Sieht auf alle Fälle vielversprechend aus. Hauptsache, sie verfällt nicht der Featuritis wie OSMand.

Übrigens die heutige Tour mit dem Rad habe ich mit #bikerouter geplant. Treckingrad ausgewählt und Kopfsteinpflaster vermeiden angeklickt. Ein schöner Weg ist dabei herausgekommen. Der Übertrag der gespeicherten gpx Datei auf meinen Wahoo hat einwandfrei geklappt. Muss mich dennoch ein wenig damit zurechtfinden.

Another update is all about the routing engine: Bikerouter is now running on BRouter 1.7.8. This upgrade paves the way for the next big feature:
Round-trip planning.
Soon, you’ll be able to plan a circular route starting from a point of your choice. You’ll have plenty of options to customize your round-trip: direction, distance, routing profile, and more.
The screenshot shows an experimental implementation of the round-trip feature.

Under the hood: I’ve completely refactored the build and deployment process for Bikerouter. The app is now built with #Vite and deployed automatically through a continuous integration setup.
Alongside the main site (https://bikerouter.de), you can now always check out the latest development snapshot (“nightly”) at https://dev.bikerouter.de and a preview of upcoming features at https://next.bikerouter.de.
Another big update: Elevation data outside Europe now uses SRTM with 1 arcsecond resolution, this is about 30 meters on the ground, instead of the previous 90 meters (3 arcseconds).
This means much more precise elevation calculations for your routes, especially in steep terrain!
For Europe, high-resolution data has already been in use for the past year.
Take a look at the before-and-after image (animated GIF):
When scrolling the sidebar down to the bottom, you’ll find a new settings section. It allows enabling two new features:
1. show terrain elevation at the mouse cursor
2. enable measurements of distances and bearing angles on the map
Ok, it’s time for some new features and improvements!
The new sidebar is now live in Bikerouter. It’s making the app much easier to use, especially on mobile devices. The sidebar opens on clicking the “Hamburger” button (1) in the top left of the screen.
The most popular routing profiles (2), as well as your most-used profiles (3), are now available as convenient buttons. All other profiles can be accessed via the drop-down menu.

@teichstecher @mjaschen Wenn ich die Kommentare richtig lese, dann nutzt die App nicht #bikerouter, sondern die Engine dahinter. Nämlich #brouter - https://brouter.de/
Und #brouter kann man als App schon länger installieren und in diversen anderen Apps als offline Routing nutzen.
Ansonsten fände ich es spannend wie @mjaschen darauf reagiert, dass irgendeine App die #bikerouter Infrastruktur nutzt.
