I think I'm still pretty much out on covering the twists and turns of Trump's re-emerging Epstein scandal; despite, as I noted above being certain the President is guilty of far more than child sexual assault. Rather I believe in addition to being a pedophile rapist, Trump was actually part of the trafficking operation that supplied young girls for Epstein to victimize. However, I remain very skeptical that anyone rich or powerful is going to be held accountable for atrocious crimes against minors as young as thirteen years old; given that a solid 95% of the scandal, including names of powerful pedophiles and folks who covered up the rape island guy's operation, has been in the public sphere for years and literally nobody has gotten into a significant amount of hot water for it except Epstein himself, and his former-girlfriend turned partner in (child sex) crime(s) Ghislaine Maxwell.

Something very interesting happened last night however, that has the potential to change my mind about where this story ends. While noted fundie fascist freak Mike Johnson was literally trying to end the congressional session just to avoid a vote on releasing the "Epstein files," Democrats serving on a subcommittee that's part of the House Oversight Committee ambushed their Republican counterparts with a motion to subpoena the Epstein files; all of them, with names of victims redacted. Astonishingly, three GOP members of the subcommittee then voted with them to pass the motion.

House Subcommittee Votes To Subpoena Justice Department For Epstein Files

"Meanwhile, Democrats on a subcommittee of the powerful House Oversight Committee made a motion for the subpoena Wednesday afternoon. Three Republicans on the panel voted with Democrats for the subpoena, sending it through on an 8-2 vote tally.

The Republican subcommittee chairman, Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana, said that work was beginning to draft the subpoena but did not give a timeline for when it would be issued.

“I’ve never handled a subpoena like this. This is some fascinating stuff,” said Higgins, who voted against the motion.

Democrats cheered the action as proof that their push for disclosures in the Epstein investigation was growing stronger. The committee agreed to redact information on victims, yet Democrats successfully blocked a push by Republicans to only subpoena information that was deemed to be “credible” — language that Trump has also used when discussing what he would support releasing."

So, let me start by saying that I have no idea if this means anything at all. Given the behavior of the fascist Trumpenreich, and the lengths the Swine Emperor's minions have already gone to try and hide criminal activities by various members of the executive branch, including of course Trump, I strongly suspect Bondi has a minion somewhere shredding files as we speak. Furthermore, and speaking of Bondi, I actually have no idea if the Trump regime is going to honor a subpoena at all; none of the folks working for the Justice Department are immune to consequences for ignoring a Congressional subpoena, but I have a hard time imaging Trump won't do whatever it takes to protect anyone close to him, who could also leak what they know about his double life as a pedo rapist human trafficker.

That having been said, for once Democrats actually sealed the deal and meaningfully targeted our fascist would-be Furher in the White House. The subpoena is on record, and if the government spits back obscenely redacted material, or refuses to obey Congress's order, the President and his sick nazi fuckhead enablers are going to have to explain why. I'm still not sure what hope there is for justice when an elite pedo sex ring with over a thousand (that is not a typo, I said "a thousand") victims is more or less totally exposed and not only does nobody particularly rich or powerful involved go to jail, but the US government tries to cut a sweetheart deal with the pedo rapist human trafficking blackmailer running the whole operation, just to cover it up. This shit goes deep, and it touches on so many powerful people and even institutions in our society that the ruling class establishment seems to regard it as "too big to prosecute" at best.

But I will tip my hat to Democrats for at least trying to expose the coverup, even if only to hinder our fascist president; I sure wish they felt like playing hardball this way to stop an anti-trans pogrom in progress, and our ongoing ethnic cleansing operation (now with bespoke concentration camps!). I'm too jaded for hope, but the dream of, after all these years, seeing rich and powerful people who brazenly destroyed the lives of so many girls, literal children, suffer consequences for what they have done, is not quite dead yet.

Warning: this is gonna be a little Live Journal.

I confess I've avoided writing about the re-emergence of the Jeff Epstein child sexual assault/elite pedophile ring scandal, even as it appears to be crashing down on President Trump's head; I'll try to explain why later on in this post. Crucially however, I don't want anyone to think the reason I'm not writing about it, is because I don't think there's anything to the scandal, or Der Leader is not involved. On the contrary, as someone who began investigating the larger Jeffrey Epstein elite pedophile ring roughly a decade ago, and has continued to follow the unfolding evidence as it pertains to Trump himself, I am quite certain it's both the most damning scandal in US political history, and that the President is guilty of things that go beyond even sexually assaulting minors and veer into something that more closely resembles human trafficking.

As I've noted on the other account - considering the preponderance of publicly available evidence, witness testimony, and a wide variety of published stories in credible mainstream media outlets, I believe and have no problem saying:

1) That President Donald Trump is both a pedophile, and a rapist. I believe he directly engaged in these hobbies with Jeff Epstein, as well as Prince Andrew; there is victim testimony to that effect available on the record. Epstein had many other famous clients, but I am unsure how many of them Trump did teen rapes with.

2) Additionally I believe Trump engaged in a trafficking operation to help supply Epstein's pedophile sex slaver right with underage victims as young as 13 years old; this was accomplished both through his Mar-A-Lago club, and a sham modeling agency he created for this purpose. Trump wasn't the *only* billionaire to do this, but we're talking about him now and this scandal is so big we'd be here for days if I listed every suspect.

3) I believe Trump is, and has been, working to cover up his involvement with the scandal; first as a rich private citizen, and then during each of his terms as President. I don't think that's even a controversial opinion anymore after Bondi's "move along, nothing to see here" statement, but it was true before now too.

4) Finally, and this will be a controversial point, I believe that Epstein's suicide is fishy enough, full of enough alarming coincidences, and questionable enough under the laws of physics, to be virtually impossible. Furthermore, while I do not have evidence the President killed him, if I were a fed trying to figure out who did do the deed, Trump would be my prime suspect - given his deep involvement with the Epstein minor sex trafficking ring, his prior efforts to cover up that involvement, the mysterious circumstances of Epstein's death, and his unique power as President to arrange for that kind of convenient suicide inside of a federal detention facility.

Naturally, some of you will be reaching for the close browser button at this point, and I confess that's probably part of why I'm not covering the story. The truth is I think points 1-3 at least can be easily demonstrated by referencing public mainstream reporting on the scandal, or even just perusing Epstein's Wikipedia page and following links. We'll come back to that point, but in the meantime as a show of good faith, please allow me to share two videos by credible left-leaning journalists who are absolutely not nazi conspiracy theorists - Mehdi Hasan, and Kyle Kulinksi. The first video touches on Trump's intimate relationship with Epstein, and the second video delves into the human trafficking operation I think Trump engaged in to supply "models" for Epstein's pedo rape parties.

Please keep in mind that this is just the tip of the iceberg, and there's more evidence that Trump is every bit the monster he appears to be in this story. Which brings me back to why I really don't want to write about Der Leader's "Epstein Scandal" even if it's the first time I've legitimately seen him on the defensive in this second presidency.

The truth is there are no real secrets in the entire Epstein scandal; a lot of it is even on Wikipedia. Everything you need to know to bring down lawyers, billionaires, CEOs, political figures, multiple former and current world leaders including Trump, perhaps whole intelligence agencies has been publicly reported, and purposely ignored by a bipartisan ruling class that protects the powerful and would lose friends and allies if the guilty ever came to justice for all this monstrous bullshit.

I don't think I'd survive staring into that abyss again, knowing that nobody will ever be held accountable for the obvious reason that this has all been publicly reported and nobody has done anything at all about it. I can't.

I'm sorry.

Back in January, I signed up for a CSA. I got an email yesterday that the first delivery is going to consist of:

- Green Garlic
- Bok Choy
- Lettuce
- Radishes
- Herb, Dill
- Spinach
- Tokyo Bekana
- Maple Syrup (Drewry Farms)

I'm supposed to go pick up the food but leave the box. I'm not sure how big of a bag to bring, though.

Tonight's cooking experiment escalated from "let's just shred a few veggies in the food processor" to busting out the kitchen stand mixer and waffle iron. I think I salvaged it though, and I also have a new way to use up the random veggies in the fridge at the end of the week.

Aiden Markram's and Temba Bavuma have been brilliant, brave and gutsy cricket and it's got us with 69 runs of being world test champions. Who knows what this wicket is going to be like in the morning, it's still not done but today was masterful. On the other side you have the cowardly and corrupt #ICC and #CSA pushing #T20 matches which means this team won't play a home test for another 18 months. 18 months.

Ok fedifolk, hit me with your best recipes for celeriac and/or turnip. Our farm share included both (2 medium celeriac, 1 big turnip) and I've never cooked them before. Recipe search is an AI wasteland these days so I turn to the real people of Mastodon.
