Schwarzenegger: Hey, stop whining, do something on climate change
people experience red, irritated or burning eyes, they should consider staying indoors and using air purifiers, Plemel said, noting that it’s a good idea to check the air quality index before going out.
Smoke makes existing conditions such as dry eyes worse, so having artificial tears on hand can also help. Artificial tears are made from saline and small amounts of oil and salt to replicate natural tears as much

Over the past 40 years South Asia has warmed far more slowly than elsewhere in the world (...) Scientists are not yet sure how to explain the South Asian “warming hole”, but there is strong evidence that both smog and changes in irrigation have played important roles. If so, then when pollution wanes, and the expansion of irrigation slows, that will change.

One of the most amazing mega projects, reclaiming land from the Sahara along the Sahel.
Using the simplest measures, not some big fancy, huge expensive industrial nation solution, basic measures that take only simple tools, manual labor and the right restoration design is restoring the productivity of land that had been desert.
Oh look, the regional climate has been restored.
Whilst many human adults have heard about #ClimateChange, #AirPollution or #PlasticPollution, their general knowledge & interest about these subjects is woefully inadequate. The two dominant underlying psychological \ cultural \ monetary reasons why many humans have apathy towards the environment;
1. People don't like to face difficult \ concerning problems related to their own behaviours (I.e., if they're part of the problem)
2. Cultures in which profit (£,$) is valued before ethics
#ClimateChange #Drought - Warming accelerates global drought severity - "Drought is one of the most common and complex natural hazards affecting the environment, economies and populations globally. However, there are significant uncertainties in global drought trends, and a limited understanding of the extent to which a key driver, atmospheric evaporative demand (AED), impacts the recent evolution of the magnitude, frequency, duration and areal extent of droughts. Here, by developing an ensemble of high-resolution global drought datasets for 1901–2022, we find an increasing trend in drought severity worldwide. Our findings suggest that AED has increased drought severity by an average of 40% globally. [...] Our findings indicate that AED has an increasingly important role in driving severe droughts and that this tendency will likely continue under future warming scenarios." - Gebrechorkos, S.H., Sheffield, J., Vicente-Serrano, S.M. et al.
