Weird exchange with my AMV Contest Coordinator over award names we're handing out for honorable mentions.

One entry submitted for the Upbeat/Dance category used a song that is catchy/dancy but the lyrics are depressing in a kind of haha barely holding it together way. Images from Shirobako & other shows.

I suggested we call it "Best Genre Subversion".

My Coordinator was like how about we call it "You need a hug, bro?" and that my suggestion might sound tone deaf.

I replied I don't see it that way, I'm autistic and just being factual, but it's your contest so I'm fine with your title I suppose.

In the late '70s & early '80s there were a lot of ppl saying that #computers were useless toys. And they were mostly right at the time. #Communication was and is the no1 killer app for computers (no, not #games). But that didn't fully arrive until 1997 for most ppl, 20 years later. Also consider that when capable #smartphones came around in 2007, people stopped using computers (now, 90% of overall usage is on #phones).
