Just sat down and watched all 5 episodes of this. The parallel with existing world wide issues is interesting. The #oil industry, how gross the general #media is, why #fema has such a terrible reputation, how people are being forcefully displaced in the US and overseas, how destructive we have been destroying our natural #environment, how badly African Americans are treated and represented, how awful the #USA truly is. Also finally, how gentle African Americans are as opposed to the others.

I’m going to have to extend my Disney+ subscription for a month, or more, to watch 4 most recent seasons of The Simpson’s that I haven’t seen. Currently on s33. I think there are 37 available at present.

Enjoying S33.

This is my new normal for Streaming subscriptions. Only pay for them when there is something specific I want to watch. Apart from TV+ which I get in a bundle with Music.

@kopflast Bei #netflix war ich erst gespannt, ob ich etwas vermissen würde. Ich habe da wider meiner Gewohnheit gehandelt und meine sog. Komfort-Zone damit verlassen. Aber ein paar Serien werden inzwischen auch auf #disneyplus gezeigt und der Dienst taugt mir persönlich gegenwärtig schon gut.

Amazon hat viel, vor allem für Filmfans, wie ich. Alte Filme, restauriert. Toll. Aber: Ich hab da schon viel gesehen und auch da bin ich erst mal durch. Zudem nervt mich der doppelte Preisanstieg sehr ...

As I just commented on this video, it's ironic that Disney's Andor is fundamentally this idea wrapped in a Star Wars sci-fi/fantasy story.

Andor is about the personal risks and sacrifices that just a chance of building a successful resistance requires, and based on history.

Andor even explicitly states that rebellion is losing and losing and losing before the chance of success can even hope to appear.

Watch it, if you can.

Even the excellent Andor had a rough start to season two, sticking too long with the immature antics of the Maya Pei brigade (the wedding arc was brilliant) and the unearned, story wise, though foreshadowed, Bix's revenge.

So I remain hopeful that Foundation will return to seriousness and stop trying to be funny or "hip" with the jarring profanity. And I'm a prolific curser, like the sailor I was once, long ago.

This YouTube video basically covers many of my thoughts on the Disney Plus show, Ironheart, and the undeserved criticisms of the lead character which are driven by unexamined biases and barely filtered racism, especially misogynoir (racism and sexism directed specifically at Black women).

This channel usually reflects my own thoughts while often adding insights that I missed. I recommend them highly.
