The color changes depending on the position on the screen dynamically while scrolling. You may know this effect from Instagram DMs or other messengers</p>

Die (Meta-)Daten liegen _immer nur auf den beteiligten_ Servern eines Raumes. Also niemand hat zentral Zugriff auf gigantische Datenmengen. Von wegen "metadaten in aller Welt verstreuen" - das sollte man schon differenzieren und im Klassenverteiler sind noch Menschen mit hotmail-, gmail-, gmx- und so E-Mail-Accounts und das stört die nicht die Bohne.</p><p>Fazit: <br>Ich halte das Metadaten-"Problem" nur in besonderen Fällen für ein Problem. Und da ist dann sicher nicht <a href="https://freiburg.social/tags/Signal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Signal</span></a> die Lösung, sondern eher <a href="https://freiburg.social/tags/briar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>briar</span></a>.<br>Und ja - wünschenswert wäre, es würden weniger dieser Daten iwo liegen. seit ~2016 nutze ich #matrixchat (vector/riot/ #element, #fluffychat , #schildichat , #synapse , #mautrix ) und bin für mich froh drum.

aber was in den 9 jahren konsequent blieb: "normale" user wandten sich ab, weil IMMER WIEDER funktionierendes tooling alle paar monate für neue funktionen kaputt gemacht wurde.

app/server/raum/welt nicht kompatibel;

matrix ist so grossartig und fährt dennoch 3x im jahr gegen den baum. 😭

If all goes to plan, I will be attending #FOSDEM 2025. Since this is my first visit, I dont plan an official talk or presentation, same as at 38c3 but I will be available for those who want to talk about #LinuxMobile
