The full US Court of Appeals for DC Circuit kept in place a June 6 decision by a divided 3-judge panel that the #Trump admin could legally restrict access to the #AP to news events in the Oval Office & other locations controlled by the White House including Air Force One.

The D.C. Circuit order denied the AP's request that it review the matter, setting up a possible appeal to the #SCOTUS.

#PublicRadio stations across the country lost a total of $350M for each of the next 2 years when #Congress narrowly voted to approve #Trump’s clawback of >$1B in funds for #PublicBroadcasting that were already approved for the next two fiscal years.

#NPR will cut its budget by ~$8M in order to provide that money to member stations most impacted by last week’s rescission of #FederalFunding.

“Our board of directors at NPR made the decision that we would go ahead & reduce NPR's own operating budget by about $8 million in the year ahead in order for us to pass along that as fee relief to the most affected stations," said NPR's President & CEO Katherine Maher.

Two journalists facing felony charges after covering #ICE protests over the detention of #Cincinnati Children's Hospital chaplain

Madeline Fenning, the investigative news reporter for the City Beat newspaper, as well as Lucas Griffith, an intern at the paper, are being charged with a combined 13 different counts in total.

This includes failure to disperse, obstructing a highway, obstructing emergency responders, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and unlawful assembly. All are either misdemeanors or traffic violations. However, most charges can still bring jail time and significant fines for those convicted of them. #Ohio

Qantas obtained an injunction to prevent the publication of any of its stolen data.

This strikes me as an abuse of injunctions.

There was nothing particularly sensitive about the types of data in the Qantas breach. And criminals are going to laugh at any injunction and leak the data or sell it anyway if that's their plan, so what does the injunction really accomplish or who does it really help?

Censoring the press from reporting on data in fairly common types of breaches does not serve society well and strikes me as just a litigation defense strategy to limit potentially bad press.
