Update #Cannabis, weil da ist gerade am meisten los und ich schick die jetzt in Blüte.
Anfangs hatte ich Probleme bei der Umstellung auf Kunstlicht (mit zu viel Lumen draufgeballert.... soll ja schnell gehen....) und dadurch fast die Pflanze gekillt.
Schnee von gestern und jetzt läuft alles erstaunlich rund.
Was praktisches zum Nachfüllen für den Tank muss ich mir noch einfallen lassen und einen Wasserstandsanzeiger hätte ich auch noch gerne.

Not many strawberries at the moment and more slugs. Stuart has done me some little supports to keep them up off the ground as they ripen in the hope it will deter the slugs a bit. Perhaps I should wrap them in copper wire.

The gherkins and various climbing plants have got a proper natural jute cargo net to scramble up this year. They have no excuses now, so get climbing. #GrowYourOwn #HomeGrown #NoDig #Gardening #Allotment #NoDig

A growing bed on an allotment has an inverted V shape bamboo cane frame with jute netting for the plants to climb up. Some alyssum and poached egg plants have been planted along the edge of the wood chip path. A row of bush beans are also in the bed. In the middle of the bamboo structure are some courgette, patty pan and cucumber plants. The plants for growing up the netting are spaghetti squash, tortarello and carosello which are melon/cucumber hybrids, gherkin, tromboncino squash, The netting may not take the weight of all this but I’m not expecting the plants to all thrive where they are. It is shaded by a large apple tree for part of the day. The Apple tree is in the background.

The Latvian peas are first to flower. The Minerva Carlin pea flowers are a little slower to show themselves.

Peas growing up some bamboo canes. The pink and red flowers of the Latvian pea look almost like a red bodied insect with pink wings.

A first single flower on a Carlin pea variety called minerva. It is a pale lilac colour. The foliage has a mottled green colouration.

Hoeraaa! Het is gelukt: we hebben een KAS!
Vandaag komt er naast onze gemeenschappelijke tuin een prachtige kas van 9x10 m.
En het mooiste? Het is een circulaire kas, samengesteld uit onderdelen van oude kassen – een tweede leven op een nieuwe plek!

Samen kunnen we nu nog meer groeien – letterlijk én figuurlijk.

A square ish allotment bed with a metal fence to deter the muntjac and other wildlife. Some mangetout and sugar snap peas, carlin peas, climbing french bean and sweet peas are planted to climb up the fence. Inside the bed are some chickpeas, tree spinach, Huauzontle aztec broccoli, dwarf french beans and clumps of sweetcorn. They have all been transplanted through a layer of compost and cardboard mulch. Bits of dislodged cardboard are lying on the surface. This area has had a lot of horsetail and bind weed coming up through the mulch. They are slowly being weakened by regular weeding.

A white tailed bumblebee with a yellow band on its abdomen and thorax is finding a lot to love about the wild blackberry flowers. The white flowers are on show with lots more flower buds getting ready to open.

A blue shed in the background is partially hidden by a plum tree. A burgundy coloured sambucus nigra elder stands out against the green foliage of trees behind it. Its lighter coloured wide flower heads are clearly showing. Comfrey plants dominate the foreground underneath.
