The Dubliners - Peat Bog Soldiers
Along with so many others, I will never advocate for a #UnitedIreland. I would take ten refugees any day over one of these boneheads behind this act of barbaric rascim. They are not and never will be Irish and our country has enough problems without having to accept or accommodate this lot.
It's simply not worth it.

Clouds swirl over North Main Street
Whispy cirrus clouds were visible over Cork a few months ago.
The building in the background used to be a Catholic Young Men’s Society hall.

“It is vital that in marking these events, we do so in a way that respects the backgrounds & cultures of everyone who share these neighborhoods,” Chief Constable Jon Boutcher said in a statement. “There is no place for hate or intimidation — only space for celebration that welcomes & celebrates not divides.”
Some 300 bonfires are set to be lit in the days ahead of July 12, when #Protestant groups in #NorthernIreland celebrate the victory of the Protestant King William III over the forces of the deposed #Catholic King James II at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690. The battle turned the tide against James’ effort to regain the throne & cemented Protestant control of #Ireland.
Church leaders & politicians complained about the display in #Moygashel, a village in #CountyTyrone about 40 miles (65 km) west of Belfast, before it was lit Thurs night. Parts of #NorthernIreland were gripped by anti-#immigrant rioting last month amid tensions surrounding a recent influx of people from Eastern Europe.
Police said they didn’t intervene before the bonfire was lit because they can only act “within the legislative framework that exists.”
WTF?
Burning of migrant boat #effigy in #NorthernIreland triggers police investigation
Authorities in Northern Ireland are investigating a bonfire that featured effigies of migrants in a boat & a banner reading “stop the boats” to determine whether it was a hate incident.

Mussenden Temple in the Northwestern coast of Northern Ireland was built in 1785 as a library. It didn't use to be that close to the edge of the cliffs but erosion happened. The temple was featured in the Game of Thrones TV series. It's also overlooking one of my favourite beaches in Ireland, the Downhill Strand.
.... but yes, please do go on about the climate change myth in Ireland...

A ceasefire in the Irish War of Independence began on 11 July 1921. The post-ceasefire talks led to the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty on 6 December 1921. This ended British rule in most of Ireland and, after a ten-month transitional period overseen by a provisional government, the Irish Free State was created as a self-governing Dominion on 6 December 1922.
