Another "fun" fact I discovered from my fiber adventure: So I had heard of the annoying vendor lock-ins for SFP modules. That they would only work with switches from the same manufacturer. But what I hadn't heard before: There is an "Small Form-Factor Pluggable (#SFP) Transceiver Multisource Agreement" (#MSA). Which some vendors agreed upon, to be compatible with each other. Why isn't something like that the default/enforced by laws???
