Last year, French authorities spent 1.4 billion euros ($1.5 billion) cleaning up the Seine so it could be used for Olympic competitions. Now, members of the public get to benefit. Three new swimming sites are now open: One close to Notre Dame Cathedral, another near the Eiffel Tower and a third in eastern Paris. It's the first time swimming in the Seine has been legal since 1923. Now, the water meets European quality standards (it's tested each day) and many locals are taking the opportunity to jump in and cool down. Here's more from @AssociatedPress.

AP News · Joyful Parisians take a historic plunge into the Seine after 100 yearsParisians have legally swum in the Seine River for the first time in more than 100 years. On Saturday morning, designated swimming areas near the Eiffel Tower and Île Saint-Louis opened to the public. This follows a $1.5-billion cleanup project tied to last year’s Olympics, ensuring the river meets European water quality standards. Swimmers wore yellow lifebuoys and lifeguards enforced safety measures. While many celebrated the experience, some locals remained cautious about water cleanliness. Floating debris was minimal and officials expressed confidence in the water’s safety.

The 1936 Nazi Olympics will be returning to Los Angeles in 2028

I'm bored let's do a #sports what if #QuestionOfTheDay

I'm reading up on Len Bias (2nd overall pick in the 1986 NBA draft and often compared to Michael Jordan for his athleticism and mid range jumpshot) and his untimely death a few days after being drafted by the Celtics and he's one of the big basketball what if questions.

So my question to you is what's YOUR big sports what if question and what do YOU think happens if it played out differently? One caveat (to make it interesting), it has to be for a team/nation you root for.

"Inspire a generation" was the moniker for the London 2012 #Olympics, but since then, only 24 more stations have become step free friendly

Sadiqq Khah has promised 50% by 2030.

Is this good enough?

Mind you have ever tried using the French Metro

Paris reopens the Seine River for public swimming.

Parisians have begun bathing in the Seine for the first time in over 100 years after a ban was lifted.

Dozens of swimmers were present for the opening at 8:00, diving into the water under the watchful eye of lifeguards.

The French capital has created three swimming zones along the river as part of its Olympic legacy.

The land of the free:

"SCOTUS allows Trump admin to deport people to random countries with no notice"

'No Notice' also means 'No Due Process'

Both the World Cup and the 2028 Olympics should seriously reconsider whether they should hold their sports activities in a country that is not safe for their fans.

Just read that sentence slowly again and let it sink in:
'deport to random countries with no notice'
