Wenn man dieses Risiko minimieren möchte, verwendet man Dinge wie #QubesOS (https://www.qubes-os.org/), welches eine hochwertige Grenze zwischen Applikationen aufbaut. Qubes implementiert "A reasonably secure operating system".
Ich verwende das regelmäßig, allerdings bisher nicht ausschließlich.

We're simplifying how SecureDrop Workstation is installed!
Previously, users needed to manually download and verify an OpenPGP key; now we're eliminating that step without compromising on security.
Learn more in our blog post: https://securedrop.org/news/bootstrapping-securedrop-workstation-via-qubes-contrib/
yet again I needed to download and verify a @QubesOS image, and yet again having the QubesOS official t-shirt (which has the Qubes Master Signing Key fingerprint printed on it) turned out to be very useful, actually.
I am such a nerd.
Qubes OS Summit Day 2 (live stream because it's today)
Qubes OS Summit Day 1
i made a space on matrix for qubes os users! i was kinda tired of having a single room that wouldn't show up in my element sidebar
it has a subspace with external rooms as well like the official qubes-public room, the xen rooms, whonix, etc
there are other rooms for salt, off topic, news, etc too
i'm doing a presentation on qubes os next month at @MTL_ATC on "advanced qubes os techniques". i noticed many people use qubes there but don't stray far from the default setup
what are some ideas for what i could talk about?
please boost!

Related: is anyone using #QubesOS with a 4k 14" laptop screen?
My experience is that QubesOS does not support UI scaling very well, so having a 4k screen might cause annoying issues. Especially with external screens.
I'd love to hear from anyone who is using this kind combination.
Edit: brainfart, I meant 4k, not FHD
Time for a new laptop, my trusty Thinkpad T490 is getting a bit long in the tooth.
It served me very well 6 years or so. My previous laptop served as my daily driver for roughly the same amount of time.
I like doing research and getting a device that I don't have to worry about for half a decade.
And on that note, I am looking at two #QubesOS certified laptops:
NovaCustom v54:
https://novacustom.com/product/v54-series/
StarLabs StarBook:
https://earth.starlabs.systems/pages/starbook
If anyone has opinions on these, please share!
hm, i wonder if i can convince qubes os to migrate their website to zola or something
also to remove all the excess javascript, especially the libraries
doing two workshops on qubes os at @MTL_ATC :3
I am looking for laptop hardware recommendations for **#Qubes OS** (or it could be a **#NixOS**-based alternative) with serious battery life.
Ideally: **5-6h+ battery life** (with virtualization running)
**32GB RAM**
**1080p screen** (minimum)
**Pro-grade quality** (durable, reliable)
What’s your go-to setup for a secure, mobile workstation? Bonus points if it’s not a pain to carry.
Running a Wi-Fi hotspot from Qubes OS to easily route your stuff and benefits from Qubes OS network management for VPNs or sys-whonix

With Qubes OS, I can run programs in stateless environments when I need, this is absolutely great for reliability and security
Most of the operating systems involved are stateless too (except /home)
This requires some training of course, but then I found it really hard to go back to a traditional OS.
Argh, my #QubesOS system randomly hard freezing is getting on my nerves. Sometimes it fails to unsuspend, it seems to hang quite quickly if dock is not connected, and now it just stopped responding even to move the cursor on screen or change state of caps lock light while I was doing something
URL filtering HTTP(S) proxy on Qubes OS
In this article, you will learn how to configure a squid proxy on Qubes OS to filter outgoing http(s) queries.

I just put together a Qubes OS guide on setting up an HTTP(S) proxy with Squid, so you can actually filter which URLs a qube is allowed to access. (even if you set it offline)
Because you can't just put a domain name into the firewall and expect it to work more than a few minutes nowadays.

These past few weeks, I've been setting up and using QubesOS. It's probably overkill for my use case, but I enjoy the work flow of the compartmentalisation. One qube for browsing, one for personal, one VPN for browsing, another for connecting to my home network. its been great!
I still use Bazzite on my gaming rig, but a privacy laptop is useful to me as well.
