There is so much knowledge and expertise within the US National Weather Service, whose mission is to protect us during severe weather. Underfunding/defunding them is one of the stupidest things that this administration is doing. And this is happening to all of our premiere science organizations (NOAA, NASA, NSF, NIH, etc.). The selfish, reckless destruction of some of the best things we have is a catastrophic loss for all of us.
