GnuPG is almost the only OpenPGP implementation people use. This produces a lock-in that does not benefit anyone but those whose business, livelihood, or ego, comes from GnuPG.

It wasn't a vendor-driven lock-in, but some of the people behind GnuPG have started to push towards GnuPG-only features, which results in a vendor-driven lock-in. This is a problem and needs to be addressed by the software freedom community.

(This is not an invitation to tell me how bad OpenPGP is. I will block.)

For the last 5 days, I've been trying to sign a digital document via #DocuSign.
And I'm a bit furious and desperate...
Just in case, I live in West Africa.

Docusign outsources the ID validation. In the past, the vendor used real people you could connect with via a lengthy process. It was usually slow and tedious, but usually worked.

Now, you have to use a mobile phone, and all the process is managed by #AI and after more than 30 connections at different times of day AND night... 1/2

Meiner Naiven Auffassung nach müsste ich für Standard CRUD Apps auf Android doch eigentlich nur 200 Zeilen Spec in YAML (ja, ja, oder XML) + Business Logik schreiben.

Stattdessen sind es 200 Zeilen Boilerplate und ich hab drei leere Material3 Seiten *sigh*

Ein Kollegi daraufhin: "Hast du schon mal versucht einem Frontend-Dev dieses yaml zu schicken?

I've taken a break from making #scoopz videos.

It is fun and definitely something I want to continue, but I found myself doing absolutely nothing but obsessing over #politics and arguing with idiots.

I wanted a bit of peace, and I am brain storming other kinds of content I can make.

The only people who ever comment on the political videos are toxic pieces of human garbage, who do nothing but waste time.

Not like my channel will just disappear if I take a couple days off.

Maybe it was not the best idea to manage sign ins to chat accounts via the OS.

Maybe it's not the best UI to have 2 sections in the settings to manage this.

Maybe calling the section where one removes account "sign in to work- or educational account" (back translated from german, but something like this)

Maybe it's not the best design if one account not working breaks the whole multi-account chat app.

Why is manage account in the OS settings a link to a website?

It never ceases to amuse me how we are sure that instagram and the nazi platform are the shit for getting our stuff out there.

For more than four years I have been on IG - luckily I ain't there anymore - and I have made ONE single sale during all that time.

Stumbled over an AI app that claims to "assist" neurodivergent or traumatised people, still angry, need to #rant.

It's beyond repulsive to offer "help" for #autism through an AI chatbot.

The condition is defined and diagnosed by a person's deficits in *social interaction with other humans*. Trying to use a *machine* that's badly mimicking human conversation to address a living and possibly traumatised human's psychological and social needs is highly questionable.

If you call your AI "empathetic", its purpose "to protect neurodivergent users" and its prompting "ethical", you are deeply unserious and your app project is far out there on the wrong track.
