Warum verbauen deutsche Fahrradhersteller diese Reifen in ansonsten alltagstauglichen Gravelbikes, obwohl sie keinerlei Pannenschutz haben?</p><p>Meine erste Ausfahrt mit dem neuen Gravelrad sollte nur durch halb Bielefeld gehen, endete aber mit einem Platten im Hinterrad, der fast zu einem Sturz in der letzten Kurve geführt hätte.</p><p>Einen durch Glassplitter verursachten Platten hatte ich in den letzten 20 Jahren nicht mehr, und ich fahre fast jeden Tag. Und das nicht immer mit Marathon-Reifen. Selbst Rennradreifen wie die GP4 haben einen besseren Pannenschutz als die WTB <a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/Riddler" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Riddler</span></a>.</p><p>Laut Hersteller werden die WTB verbaut, weil die cool kids in den USA auch damit fahren. Wenn ich aber ein Gravelrad mit kompletter Straßenausrüstung kaufe, erwarte ich, dass ihm die Glassplitter nichts ausmachen, die mir auf dem Weg zur Arbeit immer wieder unterkommen.
