We have entered the castle! Thankfully, not seeing any mind flayers. I'm not sure I'm prepared for that yet. #nethack #roguelike

My Star Trek terminal game has been bug tested
Playable to the end without crashes or game breaking bugs but minor bugs out the ass.
Played on my CRT in terminal for extra immersion and fun
After I get the bugs fixed I'll make the source code available somewhere
Cafe management with a magical twist, plus roguelike combat elements and a pretty cool witchy style. HIPS N NOSES is one to keep on your wishlist.

I've been coding this in C with the intention to test porting it to console homebrew such as for gameboy and nintendo DS.
I'm using the BASIC source code as printed in a 70s gaming magazine as a guide. I've made some changes but tried to keep most of the logic and numbers faithful to the original.
Some lava tweaking and bugfixing. Now it is properly displaying tiles far in dark and slightly illuminating the surrounding tiles.
Sometimes games are titled too well for me to play them back-to-back without raising questions on my friends list

Happy to report, that further testing was successful on this modern hardware, the #Atari7800+.
Once I got the hang of it, the game was quite fun and addictive.

Death Road to Canada is a lot of fun and so I have great expectations for the next game from Rocketcat Games, which is a spiritual sequel named Space Dingus.

I created Notebook RPG, a free minimal solo ttrpg meant to be played anywhere with only a pocket notebook, pencil, and one d6. Roguelike gameplay that moves as fast or slow as you want it to.
Do a quick read through the rules, copy the tables to your notebook for reference, and start dungeon delving instead of doomscrolling.
I adore the Scavenger's Reign-style underworld of Cleanfall, in which you build airships out of bugs - https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/i-adore-the-scavengers-reign-style-underworld-of-cleanfall-in-which-you-build-airships-out-of-bugs #ScienceFiction #SinglePlayer #Simulation #RPG:Action #Cleanfall #Roguelike #Strategy #Sideview #Horror #PC
And here is the same visualization style applied to two other map projections.
Equirectangular keeps the scale constant on the equator and meridians. But the squares close to the poles are stretched.
Gall-Peters preserves the relative areas. The poles are even more stretched.
While the Mercator projection fails to preserve the relative sizes, it does map squares to (almost) squares, which made the Mercator visualization look very nice.
A yet another visualization of the distortions of the Mercator projection.
An ASCII map using the Mercator projection is projected back on a sphere. In the map, all the characters are of the same size.
I keep getting back to "The Ascend" on XBox. Fior some reasons I really enjoy the game allthough the boss enemies are hard as hell. But hey, I can be a gun-wielding cyber-something in a diablo-like game with astonishing graphics and really, REALLY nice places!
A new addition to the arsenal of fancy items: the Scroll of Random Teleport! Fun fact: it's not 100% safe, you may become decoration in the wall.
