JWST discovered a massive black hole from the early universe that challenges current theories of cosmic formation. This black hole, dubbed QSO1, is as heavy as 50 million suns but appears to exist largely on its own, with few stars surrounding it.
The discovery suggests that such black holes may have been among the very first large structures to form.

Yale researchers solved a 200-year-old mystery by developing a 30-foot mass spectrometer that can track how protons move through #water molecules. Using an organic molecule as a "taxi" for protons, they created the first experimental benchmarks for this fundamental process that affects everything from human eyesight to #energy storage.

When Astronauts Enter Space, a "Dark Genome" Activates in Their DNA
"In space, stem cells decline in function," Jamieson told CNN. "They actually reduce their ability to renew themselves or regenerate, and that’s an important thing to be able to know for long-term space missions."
