ZakLa tortue de Floride (Trachemys scripta elegans) à gauche et La Cistude d'Europe (Emys orbicularis) à droite observées à Ollioules. La tortue de Floride est considérée comme invasive en Europe, notamment en France, où elle menace la biodiversité locale en concurrençant la cistude d'Europe et en déséquilibrant la chaîne alimentaire. Elle est agressive et peut décimer certaines espèces locales. La collecte et le relâchement volontaire dans la nature ont aggravé cette invasion. La Cistude d'Europe est une espèce emblématique des zones humides, aujourd'hui en danger critique d'extinction. I also provide support and counseling for people on Manus Island and those who left but are still suffering.I still have my own struggles with depression and mental health, but helping others in my situation lifts me up.It was torture what the government did to us. They were saying it was deterrence, but it never worked. It hasn’t stopped people from trying to get to Australia to seek protection because they have no choice.
