Ronsboy67<p>As part of my <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Poetry" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Poetry</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Reading" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Reading</span></a> goal I've just started "Remember Me: Poems To Learn By Heart From <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Aotearoa" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Aotearoa</span></a> New Zealand", an anthology compiled by Anne Kennedy. Her intro talks about why & how to memorise poems, and it was going well until she mentioned that one of the "remember me" poems is Dennis Glover's "The Magpies"". I hate the birds and the poem. Just seeing the name brings back bad memories of being forced to learn & recite it at school.
