Got in a little bit of a ride today... I have been dragging each morning this week so it did feel good to get out there. Weather was blah, light mist and winds a little bit annoying.

#Biketooter :When planning a #bike #route with #FOSS and #OSM based #routing engines, such as #Brouter / #Bikerouter ,the result analysis frequently shows some #surface percentage as "unknown". I guess that's because the #information is missing in the #OpenstreetMap #database .However, when I upload the same track as #GPX into a #commercial #biking application, such as #Komoot or #Cyclers ,the "unknown" has disappeared, while they are also based on OSM. How come?

I'm trying to buy a ticket for one of those famous European trains with designated bike spaces, and it seems like I'll need to do that at the counter.

Looking ahead to this weekend's Paris-Roubaix races, the organisers have designed a new run in to the Trouée d'Arenberg to improve safety by slowing the peloton.

ASO says "We are making a small detour along the mine site of Arenberg, including four right-angled curves in the kilometre in front of the forest."

#BikeTooter I successfully transported two 5 gallon jerry cans of diesel in my ebike's rear milk crate basket so I could have heat in my home this week. My oil tank was down to the dregs, with 5 weeks left before our last frost date. The 10 gallons should last 7-10 days, hopefully, at which point I will do it all over again. This is the first time I've tried to transport a full fuel can on my bicycle, and it went off without a hitch.

A glorious April 16C (60F) #bike day with my mother (86) on the #Veluwe in the #Netherlands. We cycled 35 km on e-bikes. I had not heard of the bike brand Flyer (“Swiss assembled”), but they were great. The sheep enclosure is surrounded by electric fencing. I assumed to keep people from petting, but later I realized it is to keep the wolves out. (meanwhile, snow in #Ottawa) #biketooter #cycling

On the way back, I went past one of the local farms. The chicken were outside, likely plotting how to overthrow humanity. #mdRnH #eBike #BikeTooter

Took the new carbon frame and some new components out for a test ride.

What surprised me about being back on UK roads wasn't the shit state of them or even the awful drivers it was litter. Don't think i registered it before, but after being away it's all i could see.

Got as far as Leipzig, Thomaskirche, Germany. There, my brain started humming J.S. Bach's cantata "Es ist genug" ("It is enough") after just bicycling 55 km. Thus, I had a Thüringer bratwurst, got two scoops of icecream, and booked a hotelroom. [In case you are musical, you might want to hum with me: a b c# and, surprise, d#].
