Nach der Alant Enttäuschung, denn es war die Telekie.
Jetzt doch noch ein echter Alant, der sogenannte Zwergalant (Inula ensifolia). Ein wunderschöner, spät blühender, etwa 25 cm hoch werdender Bodendecker.

I don’t have the heart to harvest my lavender. It’s making so many little buzzy friends happy.

A quiet riot of violet. Petrea volubilis — also known as Queen’s Wreath — cascades in delicate clusters of five-petaled blooms. This one stopped me mid-step.

We only have a small garden, and we mostly grow flowers in containers. Since the end of last week's warm weather the lobelia has been going absolutely great guns, and I popped outside at lunchtime to find five bees happily lapping pollen & nectar from this single container alone.

Elsewhere in the garden there were another 6 or 7 bees and two small white butterflies. This has made my day!
