🍎✨ #Apple has invented a magical new way to make your iPhone detect every single object in your cluttered living room—because what we really need is our phones to scream "SOCK!" at us every five seconds. Meanwhile, over at #GitHub, they're busy turning the same three #buzzwords into an infinite loop of self-congratulation and pretending #AI can write better code than a half-asleep intern. 🤖💡

Started decluttering some stuff, and honestly it feels *awful*

Am throwing things away and putting some misplaced things into their proper place, but the entire activity feels like trying to empty an Olympic sized swimming pool by bailing it out with a thimble.

It's exhausting, and demoralising, and I hate it, but I guess I'll just have keep doing it.

Prescribed burn in the the Valley of the Giants gone wrong
Save the tourist infrastructure not the national park?

"A plan to protect tourist infrastructure has resulted in an estimated 180 large trees falling over. Western Australian authorities say the planned burn was carried out east of the Valley of the Giants precinct to protect visitor infrastructure. While the tourist hub was untouched, conservationists say the fire has been "catastrophic" for a nearby section of bushland, and the outcome should have been predicted."

Blogkino: In Cold Blood (1967)

#Thriller #FilmNoir In Cold Blood

"Cosily curated Japanese clutter-spaces are different. There is a meticulousness to the best of them that is on a par with the mental effort poured into simplifying something: a deliberate aesthetic decision to add, rather than subtract – sometimes mindfully, sometimes unconsciously, but always, always individually."

@gerrymcgovern I deleted **79,125** 'promotional' emails from my Gmail account yesterday.

Didn't think I really needed them.
Didn't think they were useful.

Why do I get so many of these completely useless messages?
Why is so much time and energy expended on these hopeless things that most people completely ignore?
And why should we keep storing them, year after year?

What a terrible waste.

Good morning, friends. 💮☕ ⌨️

30 April 2024

My office is a mess, it looks like something out of a movie with an absent-minded professor as a character. There are cameras, old computers, and computer parts scattered everywhere. There are papers that I need to file or take some kind of action on. I have so many books in here that I've run out of space in my bookcase, and they are starting to pile up on the side of the bookcase. I tell myself to take a day and straighten it up, but it just goes on my list of things to do tomorrow because tomorrow is the perfect day to get things done. One thing that gets done, is the office gets vacuumed regularly - I have a Roomba 😂.

Decluttering activity of the evening: threw all the philosophy books I had in the book donation pile. Why do I have a giant pile of philosophy books? Because of ONE philosophy class in college, which I hated... eons and eons ago. Have I moved them at least 4 times? Yes. The last time I read one of them? COLLEGE. #clutter (also, you can get them all free on Project Gutenberg now, I am pretty sure).
