What it’s really like being #Black in Russia

“Russia is not a comfortable country to live in for anyone who doesn’t fit the image of the ‘ideal #Russian’ promoted by the media and authorities.”

“How much more of this can one take?” a bloodied Villa cried in an Instagram video filmed from what appeared to be the back of an ambulance. As she described the #attack, Villa said the #police failed to intervene.

The move means that #transgender #ServiceMembers will now be faced with the choice of either taking a *lump-sum* [meager] separation payment offered to JUNIOR troops [regardless of their actual status] or be removed from the service.

An #AirForce [#USAF]spox told AP that “although service members with 15 to 18 years of HONORABLE service were permitted to apply for an exception to policy, none of the exceptions to policy were approved.”

“The lawsuit, filed on Mon morn in fed dist court on Mohammad’s behalf by the Council on Islamic-American Relations in #georgia (Cair-Ga), centers on Emory’s alleged “intentional discrim & retaliation” during disciplinary proceedings against the medical-sociology dual degree student last yr.”

#Trans people face heavy #housing and #job #discrimination, this is a huge help

Sometimes I'm angry at my state, "New York you fucking suck!" (if you're not swearing every other word you're not a real knickerbocker- a New Yorker)

But sometimes I'm quite fond of #NY ❤️

My country, well we're not going to talk about that right now 😠

Congress wrote the #VotingRights Act to prevent the case-by-case whack-a-mole games local lawmakers were playing with election rules. It forced jurisdictions with a history of #discrimination to clear elections changes with the Department of Justice before they could go into effect. It banned literacy tests to vote and allowed challenges to district maps when those maps would not allow proportional representation for minority voters.

BTW: I really would love it when baristas wouldn't discriminate me.

Wait. What?

"How can a barista discriminate you?" you might ask...

Look at this while holding the cup on the handle in your left hand!

"Yeah! But that's not discriminating. I mean you can still see the unicorn!" you might think...

*That* is what discrimination is about!

(Tip for baristas: Use cups without handle. Or put the handle on top or bottom of the art)
