> People getting divorced are setting up gift registries. Don't roll your eyes just yet cbc.ca/radio/thecurrent/divorc

On one hand, WTF ridiculous, latest form of online and public begging. But on other hand, I can see this, especially if the other spouse gets most of the stuff. (And let's not assume, this can apply to either spouse).

CBCPeople getting divorced are setting up gift registries. Don't roll your eyes just yet | CBC RadioDivorce registries are just like wedding registries: lists of things that family and friends can buy someone — but in this case at the end of a marriage, not the beginning.

Now here's an interstimg fact I've not seen in a news article.

About 70% of divorces are initiated by women. Yeah everyone knows that.

But here's the interesting bit. It's the same ratio in same sex relationships.

Around 70% of same sex divorces are between women.

That's a very weird correlation. And I think it would surprise most people.

It really surprised me.

Meanwhile, in the #BadEconomy. And it really is economics: "It’s not about romantic reconnection or polyamory. It’s about logistics, shared parenting, and surviving rent"

VICE · Divorced Couples Are Saving Money by Living Together—With Their New SpousesBy Ashley Fike

Recent Swedish research found that married women were more than twice as likely as men to have got a divorce in the 3 years after becoming CEO.

Although those that divorced were a minority, it seems that rather than the pressure of work breaking up relationships, a return to work & gaining more financial independence allows women to escape failing marriages.

2 Q.s: how many more women are trapped & unable to leave?
Is this similar (higher) at lower levels of wages?
