I have replaced #Dropbox with #pCloud and #Google Search with #DuckDuckGo. Now I am looking for an alternative to Google #Drive / Google #Workspace. Does anyone have experience with the Swiss #kSuite with #OnlyOffice ?

I'm really happy with my #Linux #home setup now! I've got a clean separation between my files and #dotfiles, and everything is synced with #Dropbox (except the sensitive stuff).
Plus, '~/homebase/synced-files' is set as the default path that Dolphin opens when it starts up.
Everything is super clean now!

Min resa med kreativa verktyg blev ganska intressant. Jag lämnade #Scrivener mest för att jag ville komma bort från #Dropbox. Då gick jag över till #LibreOffice, där jag kan jobba med filer direkt mot min Synology. MEN appen för LibreOffice på iPad lider av en hel del problem och därför började jag skriva i #Obsidian, med tanken att jag ”flyttar över texten” till LibreOffice senare. Kort och gott jobbar jag nu endast i Obsidian. Det finns bra plugins för att främja min skrivprocess.
Question for fellow thunderbird users. I have multiple filters to manage my inboxes. I just realised that the set of filters differs between machines. Are there any strategies which allow syncing ? I don't need realtime sync, only reliable sync with a max delay of one week.

So... if you delete a #Dropbox Business user account that had Dropbox Backup enabled, it doesn't just delete the #backup copy of their user folders, but IT DELETES THE ORIGINALS TOO! The Mac profile becomes unusable and a factory reset is needed.
That is the exact OPPOSITE of what a "backup" service is should do!!!
Thankfully I learned this in a situation where the former employee migrated their data manually before they left (their account was deleted by another #admin )
A cautionary tail regarding data loss…
Despite my best efforts, my wife has resisted for years my requests for her to stop relying on iCloud and Dropbox and move her cloud storage onto our NAS which has perfectly good file sync and backup clients.

Just dropped #Dropbox.
TIL that if you exclude a file or directory from dropbox syncing and then delete the file or directory from the dropbox directory, dropbox deletes its copy on the server! At least this is the behaviour I see on Linux.
It's relatively easy to restore using the dropbox website, but you have to know it's happened.
Another one bites the dust. #Dropbox is shutting down its Passwords app.
Just a reminder to back up your important cloud data on a regular basis (and to choose services that allow you to do so). Services come and go all the time.
