You might have an active Home timeline, unfortunately, #Mastodon instances won't keep all messages. So you might lose/miss some of them.
#Fedilab introduced the ability to cache your Home timeline in the background. This is also useful if you have a weak connection, the app will read them later from cache. #FedilabTips

With #Fedilab, you can customize how timelines are displayed in the app.
For that just open "Main menu > Manage timelines".
You will be able to reorder your timelines by moving items. Hide a timeline by tapping on the eye icon. All timelines can be removed excepted default ones that can only be hidden.
Also, by tapping on the "+" button at the top right, you will be able to follow remote instances (and also Twitter accounts through #Nitter). #FedilabTips

Fedilab continues to surprise me with features that I missed. Open a profile and go to 'Media'. This gives you a great view of all the media on the account—only media, no text. One tap opens the media, as expected. What I didn't know is that tapping and holding brings you to the corresponding post. :floofHappy:

Recently we got several feedback concerning Hashtag and Nitter pinned timelines.
You can perfectly make them work as lists by adding more hashtags or more Nitter accounts on a single timeline.
For that, just long press the tab of pinned timelines.
You will also be able to rename tabs. #fedilabTips

Just a reminder that if you change your device, #Fedilab has an export/import feature in settings.
It will generate a file that you can even import from the login page just after installing Fedilab on the new device. You will have an exact copy of Settings and authenticated accounts without any extra efforts. #fedilabTips

CubHubAlioth Fox (@AliothFox@cubhub.social)Getting lots of new followers today! Some of that may be because you guys are seeing my posts on #Twitter (Sorry, not Twitter, "X" 🙄). Glad you decided to follow me here - #WelcomeToMastodon! This place may seem a little confusing at first, but I think you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly. Just a couple important things to keep in mind: - There's no algorithm here. You can't always see who follows whom. You can't see other people's likes. That's not how discovery works here. - Directly search for people you want to find. Avoid accounts with stuff like "bird.makeup" in the name; they're not real and are just automated mirrors of Twitter accounts, often without the account holder's consent. - Look at the "Explore" page. Look at "Live Feeds" and check out "Local," "Remote," and "All" - you'll see lots of content there and find people to follow that way! - Remember that you can follow hashtags here just like you follow users! - On that note, tag your stuff with hashtags. They're your best friend here when it comes to discoverability. - Fill out your profile (*especially* with a profile picture) as quickly as possible so your posts draw people's eyes. - Make an #Introduction post so people know about you! (You can pin it, too!) - Use content warnings liberally! Unlike on Twitter, you are *never* going to be penalized by an algorithm here for posting sensitive/NSFW content or links. Just make sure you follow the rules of your instance! If in doubt, put a CW on it. It's not going to affect your visibility in people's timelines! If there's something you're not sure about, ask someone! Have a great time here - I think you'll find this place a breath of fresh air compared to Twitter!

Did you know that #Fedilab allows you to discover #Peertube with a dedicated layout to that software?
For that, just open the main menu and select "Peertube".
You will be able to select an instance with helpers.
Even if you don't have an account, you will be able to interact with your Mastodon account.
And if you like Peertube, you can register with the app thanks to an instance picker.
#FedilabTips

For adding accounts into a list with #Mastodon, you currently need to follow them.
Sometimes, you might not want to see their messages in your Home feed.
For that, #Fedilab has an in-app feature (working only with the app), you can mute accounts for Home only.

Read media descriptions for more details and you can follow #FedilabTips we will publish more about unknown features with that tag.
