So … it’s aquarium maintenance day and I’m ashamed to say that I messed up my calculations meaning that I increased my water hardness to 3 times the intended amount, which necessitated an emergency water change. Lugging 120 litres of water around the house in 30°C weather was … unpleasant. #AmateurAquarist #fish #petsofmastodon
This is Psychrolutes marcidus, otherwise known as the ugly blobfish. It’s forever cruel that we pull this lovely fish up from the deep, slowly murder it with rapid decompression to the point its soft tissue becomes gelatinous, and then call it names, while running it into extinction.
If we’d get pulled down to their depths, we’d be dead and blobby too.
