They're highly invasive if not heavily controlled. Japanese barberry provides prime environments for <a href="https://beige.party/tags/ticks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ticks</a> to breed due to the high humidity in barberry's dense foliage. It's believed that spread of barberry is correlated with the spread of <a href="https://beige.party/tags/LymeDisease" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#LymeDisease</a>.I really wish stores/nurseries that sell plants would inform customers on problematic ones so folks can make more informed decisions. Many uninformed customers often buy Japanese barberry shrubs because they're deer resistant & visually appealing. I suggest avoiding it. It's been banned for sale in some USA states. Swede’s PhotographsGood morning. ☕☕☕16 July 2025The coffee’s bitter this morning—two days of rich Savannah Coffee Roasters brew now replaced by Folgers. Yesterday, my wife, daughter, and three granddaughters went shopping, an outing my granddaughters had been buzzing about. Meanwhile, the guys and I stayed home, though we had our own mini adventure. We swung by Savannah Coffee Roasters, where I picked up three small bags of beans, priced for tourists. The whole stop took five minutes… maybe ten. Afterwards, we had lunch at The Flying Monk, a noodle joint serving dishes from around the world, mostly Asian. I ordered ramen—my go-to comfort food. This time, I just wanted some that hadn’t come out of a packet. It was excellent.
