If I'm not mistaken, one of the libraries/models used for the object selection in #Krita is the same as the one used for #Kdenlive's new Object Mask effect (#SAM2).

A recent discussion on open-source Photoshop alternatives (https://mastodon.design/@candidexmedia/114558704815706042) led me down a rabbit hole of image background removal in @Krita.
Turns out there's a fantastic third-party plugin which can accurately select an object inside an image by clicking or drawing a box!

@kaffeeringe Ich mochte #Picasa auch. Sogar die Filter (die ich heute nicht mehr in der Form anwenden würde). Bildverwaltung ist echt ein Thema. Es gibt viel, aber das "Richtige" für mich habe ich auch bisher nicht entdeckt.

The Latvian Animated Feature Film #Flow won the #Oscar. The Film was done with @Blender and Filmmaker Gints Zilbalodi addressed it in his acceptance speech and the interview afterwards.

The conference will take place from May 28 to May 31 in Nuremberg, Germany. The call for papers is closed, but there might still be some spots for latecomers! Find out more!
