Did some #MiniaturePainting

1) tried to get several cape colours based on madder using only contrast.
2) wanted a zero effort skin model, so went base coat, mid tone, lighter tone, extreme highlight.
3) what the fork is wrong with GSW for having this bloody diarrhoea as a skin tone? The person formulating this paint should get up close to people with any non-white skin for once. Avoid as a skin tone.

Avoid gsw anyway.

I've been doing some more work on resculpting my orcs. I'm not sure at what point they become my own sculpts rather than some extra bits on the original models, but I think I might be getting close.

Family traveled for my brother's wedding. These tend to have a lot of "hurry up and wait" so I thought I'd run an experiment with the down time:

What kind of painting might I accomplish with an off-the-shelf kit with minis, brushes, paints, and clippers? ...

#Mordheim needs more Norse Explorers to rampage through it. Have had these from the expensive and somewhat iffy mierce miniatures for years, but as I bought them coming new into resin, I quickly found out that they break extremely easily. Must have left them in a box for 5 years. Time to do them justice. Would have done things differently.

Got the ulfwerenar soaking in stripper already

I started to paint the gold parts of the Pink Horrors. I don't have any brush, I'm willing to put metallic pigments on, which still has a proper tip.
Also paint is either separating on wet palette or drying too fast on a metallic lid.
As I'm not successful with AK gold, I'll try retributor armour next.

What are you all using to paint gold? Vallejo?

I was knackered but got my first evening of mini painting in a while. Finished the #Thrudball #BloodBowl star Ang Gree, who's based on legacy star Sinnedbad.

Lovely sculpt by @renegademinis and was fun™ to paint, even if my ability is shot by a stressful night.

I continued painting the eyes and teeth of my Pink Horrors.
I'm satisfied with the result.
I also added some pink highlights to increase the saturation around the face.
I only have the gold parts left for next week!

I got into an idea for one of the goblins for the Norse Orcs and did the stupid thing of just going for it. So here's hoping Greg likes it or I'll be doing a different one. But I was having fun and needed to be today. So I'll just quietly post it here for now. This would be the Fanatic, instead of the usual ball and chain, and maybe it's too far from that but I'm so entertained by the idea of Thoring it at someone then having to manually coil it back up. #nerdlings #bloodbowl #goblins #marvel

Progress is slow but steady for the autumnal Wood Elves.

There are a few wearing blindfolds and a few wearing headbands and a few with eyebrows so prominent I thought they were headbands. They all got hit with orange. I might even remember to fix the eyebrows later.
