Please recommend something akin to #OpenSuse #Snapper, where #apt-Upgrades are automatically snapshotted, so I can revert an upgrade, or other dangerous system changes for #Debian or #Ubuntu based systems. I only found apt-btrfs-snapshot, but is there something that's available from the get-go?

So here is a video demo of using roast_scm (plus a glimpse of using roast_scm internally in cargo_vendor) in the rustup package.

So langsam wirds. Bin ja mal wieder gewechselt, kommend von #opensuse (toll toll) hin zu #Manjaro (auch toll toll).

Wieso Wechsel? Es gab eine Sache, die ich nicht wegbekommen habe bei opensuse. Ich habe es nicht hinbekommen, dass das System am Ende wirklich nur und direkt von der Platte gestartet ist. Es brauchte immer einen USB Stick. Ausdrücklich will ich nicht ausschließen, dass auch hier das Problem vor dem Rechner gesessen hat. Habe keine schnelle Lösung gefunden und dann will ich ja immer nicht allzu viele Lebenszeit drauf verwenden und bin dann zurück zu Manjaro.

Durchgefallen: openSUSE Leap 16 Beta ohne yast

Auch wenn Leap 16 noch Beta ist, bin ich sehr enttäuscht: Das neue Installationsprogramm, der Paketmanager und der YaST-Nachfolger funktionieren aktuell kaum und sind große Baustellen. Noch nie hat mich ein SUSE-Produkt so ratlos gemacht. Wer wissen will, woran es hapert, kann meinen Weg der Frustration im Video verfolgen!
