According to Jason Hickel, a leading advocate of degrowth and author of 'Less is More: How Degrowth Will Save the World,' the movement calls for reducing consumption and production of things that harm the planet such #FossilFuels, #SUVs, #PrivateJets, #mansions, #FastFashion, #IndustrialBeef, #CruiseShips, and the #MilitaryIndustrialComplex.
"While the term may be unfamiliar to many Americans, its core ideas have cropped up in the Green New Deal’s goals of a post-fossil fuel economy; the pandemic-era phenomenon of white-collar workers voluntarily quitting their jobs and working less; and the recent social media trend of '#NoBuy,' which encouraged people to purchase less and #repurpose more.

Yesterday, a partial solar eclipse occurred at sunrise in parts of North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. A striking photo from Iceland shows the Sun partially obscured by the #Moon, with a person seemingly pulling it out. No total eclipse was seen this time.

The common mini-Neptunes typically form with a #hydrogen #atmosphere, resulting in conditions where #hydrogen and the #planet’s molten interior interact for millions to billions of years.
But the temperatures and pressures involved are so extreme that laboratory experiments to study them are nearly impossible.
Water and hydrogen would begin to separate deep within the atmosphere leading to rainfall deep inside the planet’s atmosphere as heavier water sinks.

Depending on the energy and frequency of these flares, nearby planets in the habitable zone might be rendered uninhabitable as the flares strip planetary atmospheres of necessary ingredients such as ozone and water.
