#Bible #Thought of the day: When #Christians discuss “divine inspiration” we tend to not really consider “genre.” Like, saying Job is a work of fiction will upset a number of biblical literalists. But this assumes that God can’t “breathe” through a work of fiction?

The book of #Revelation is likely to be a kind of ancient drama, written in symbolic poetic prose. It’s not a step-by-step guide for the future. To deny its genre is to risk denying God the full breadth of His inspirational work.
