🚀 Major upgrade for molecular descriptors in AOP-Wiki RDF!

- Textual gene mapping precision: 1,228 false positives eliminated (−19%)
- Gene ID resolution: 2,800+ IDs now 50× faster with @bridgedb batch API
- Chemical ID mapping: 403 chemicals mapped in ~5s (40× faster, down from 3+ min)

Overall result: total RDF conversion time cut from ~30 minutes to 6 minutes (5× faster) → leaner, more accurate, and dramatically faster RDF generation.

🚀 New Release: GESIS Knowledge Graph (GESIS KG) 🌐

We are excited to introduce version 1.0.0 of the GESIS KG, which integrates metadata of scientific resources available in GESIS Search.

The knowledge graph facilitates understanding relationships between data, publications, and social concepts, enhancing the traceability and reproducibility of research.

#HTML question

If I have a website, should the title of the page be in the h1 or the name of the website?

I think the former... in which case should the name of the website be in a div or span? It feels like we are missing elements that can be used to mark up the site name and category (I was going to say section but I know there is markup for that which is within the context of a single page) name of a site?

In our last #ISE2025 lecture last week, we were discussing what makes a node "important" in a knowledge graph. A simple heuristics can be borrowed from graph theory or communication theory: Degree Centrality

Interestingly, in Wikidata In-degree centrality states Jane Austen to be to most "important" female author, while Out-degree centrality claims J.K. Rowling as being more "important" ;-)

ZenodoNFDI4Culture Integration Stories: Bridging Gaps between isolated Research ResourcesThis paper is published with the Digital Humanities Conference 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal and was presented in the conference poster session.  It showcases the integration of metadata from two cultural heritage (CH) sources - RISM Online and the Gregorovius digital edition - into the NFDI4Culture Knowledge Graph (NFDI4Culture-KG). NFDI4Culture-KG enhances findability and interoperability across disciplines like musicology, art history, and media studies. Using shared authority files (e.g., GND, VIAF) and the NFDI4Culture Ontology (CTO), heterogeneous datasets are semantically linked via e.g. people and locations. The integration is powered by an ETL environment (Culture Knowledge Graph Kitchen) enabling scalable harvesting, transformation, and integration of metadata on CH data into the Culture Knowledge Graph. This enables researchers to discover new connections - such as between musical sources of RISM Online and letters of the Gregorovius edition - via SPARQL or perspectively a GUI, enhancing cross-domain research in cultural heritage.

I'm delighted to be presenting at the 'Global Romanticism' Digital Symposium, hosted by the British Association for Romantic Studies (BARS), on the #RomanticPeriodPoetryArchive (RPPA) — a digital project exploring transnational Romantic-era poetry.
