What does Keir Starmer stand for? It's been five years since Keir Starmer replaced Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the Labour party.

Despite winning a landslide victory in the 2024 general election, many are still uncertain what the prime minister represents, whilst assessments of his time as Labour leader have become more negative.

A part of Eryri so undisturbed that it's still possible to walk through the pattern of leading wall openings to an ancient - probably Bronze Age - field system.

Of course, being in Wales, it's never received anything other than the most cursory of notes-in-passing study, despite being in a wider area of intense prehistoric activity.

If this were found anywhere else, imagine the excitement.

Hearing the news about protesters in Wales wanting to bury overhead power lines rather than have pylons because of the environmental impact. Protesters missing that burying cables involves digging very large trenches through fields, walls, trees, SSSIs, ancient Monuments etc. Potentially in 40-50 years the process may need to be repeated when cables are replaced. Sure, overhead power lines are visually intrusive, but the damage to the environment is significantly less, never mind the lower costs. #energy #pylons #wales

Daily #Wales from a still-frustrated mastodon user (it’s the fecking useless app which is currently annoying me rather than the server, suggestions / recommendations on alternatives welcome)…

Anyway, calm. Sun setting in haze…

There is a goose sitting on a nest on the island in the pond. When I walked up there was a moorhen beside her too. Its a Canada so, sadly, not native but we still enjoy seeing the gosslings and being able to offer them a home. Her partner is keeping watch from a fair distance away amongst the sheep in the field next door. #nature #Wales

A mossy little stone in a big landscape for today's #StandingStoneSunday

Lower Neuadd standing stone in the upper reaches of the Taf valley. Further up towards the head of the valley is a group of Bronze Age ring cairns, and above that the highest Bronze Age cemetery in Southern Britain on the summits of Pen y Fan and Corn Du. The stone may have been a marker to point the way.

This visit on a day of sleety snow, April 2012.
