I love the #miniaturepainting and #wargaming communities, but the way so much of that community interaction is locked behind Facebook registration and Discord groups is incredibly frustrating. I miss forums.
Working some more on terrain for my papercraft solo RPG skirmish game.
Today I made some new “standee” trees that take up 2”x2” instead of the “box” trees that are only 1”x1”. I think I like them better - they are more stable on the play area and they feel more like trees.
I’m experimenting with doing all line art or adding grayscale shading to some elements. Not 100% sure which way I want to go with that.
Also cool new cobweb markers!
Time for another playtest of my Morningstar: Close Combat skirmish rules. Today I'm trying out the new damage system and revised sensor ranges. I also moved some of the terrain around; I figure hard cover in the middle is very useful, but also easily flanked. (1/7) #LEGO #mecha #tabletop #wargaming

And here's the other side. The best part is that it can hang off the wall when there's nothing on it and virtually take up no space.
Finally finished a two-sided board for whenever I need a board. One side is a simple 1" stone floor grid that can work as either a city or dungeon, so I set up a little scene to see how it fits with some stuff I made previously. I've been fighting the urge to make buildings, but now I feel I have to. And stackers. And stairs. And statues. And fountains. And other stuff.
