Two Birkenhackers successfully made a 32x32 LED panel work with #wled on a #esp32 on Tinker Night last Wednesday. Hopefully we can increase the size of the array on the next Tinker Night!
We even used our Macintosh LCIII connected to the internet, to search how to wire it up. Since this machine is not powerful enough to display ads, we were able to work without distraction.
Made a template to make aligning LEDs behind things super easy and then went and did this to the kids Ikea desk.

What I like:
#IOT devices that are being sold preflashed with #OpenSource Firmware, so I don't need to open them to flash my own.
What I dislike:
IOT devices that are being advertised as preflashed with #WLED or #Tasmota but with OTA patched out, so after deploying them I find out need to open them up after all to update the firmware or flash eaphome.
(Yes I get the reasoning behind it, just wish they would not hide the fact)
@arthack wow, loving it! currently enjoying it from a hammock with my headphones. will need to put it on the speakers in the comfy zone, a small room with #WLED stuff, fluffy plushies and couches, in the #Nobreakspace in northern Germany

Epic fail: j'arrive pas à faire un truc qui pourtant me parait tout simple, souder des pauvres câbles à trois points d'un ruban de LEDs. Je suis super mauvais ou je m'y prend avec le mauvais matos ou y a un truc que j'ai raté ?
Bon je retourne bidouiller du software, au moins je me sens moins nul que avec le hardware.
Auftrag von meiner Partnerin eine smarte Beleuchtung für das Schlafzimmer zu bauen: Mit #WLED Controller in der Mitte des Betts und 2 LEDs nach beiden Seiten.
Die beiden vorderen M3 Schrauben dienen als Touch-Schalter (ein/aus und Nachtlicht Modus).
Mittlerweile komme ich auch besser mit Fusion 360 zurecht um damit Gehäuse zu entwerfen

Habe meinen 3D-Drucker (indirekt) gepimpt in Kombi mit Home Assistant und einer WLED
Während des Drucks zeigt nun ein vioetter Fortschrittsbalken an, wie weit er ist, Wenn er fertig ist gibt es einen grünen Countdown der nach 15 Mins den Strom abstellt (wenn ich dann noch was weiteres Drucken will muss ich nur auf dem Drucker aufs Touchdisplay drücken) und im Feherfall gibt es eine Wechselanimation
Kleines #WLED Projekt bringt endlich Licht an den Badspiegel. Seit 3 Jahren hingen da Drähte über den Spiegel und ich habe keine vernünftige Lampe gefunden. Also von AliExpress fertige WLED Platine, BTF Led Stripes (IP65), ein Netzteil. Von Amazon die Profile. Vom Baumarkt Wandsteckdose, zwei Regalbretter, kleinere Sachen zum Befestigen. Etwas Löten, etwas Bohren, zurechtsägen, an die Wand pinnen fertig. WLED konfiguriert. Nun nur noch #Homeassistant mit Schalter verheiraten (#Zigbee).
I made (and documented) a round pixelated display to carry around using 3Dprinting, #WLED and a stick. Its audio reactive, that means it listens to music and blinks accordingly to the beat: A festival totem (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festival_totem)
There is also #meshtastic node inside to share your location

Almost finished! I just need to glue the sections together and I think I can call the hardware side of this project done and dusted!
I just finished building some undercabinet lights using some ws2815 leds and #wled. Then setup some automations using #homeassistant. Seriously guys, #foss is awesome! And the great free knowledge on the internet to teach me to solder.... What a time to be alive!
They said this wouldn’t work but it bloody well does! Just three more digits to solder up (161 individual LEDs!) and I’ll have a clock!
I’m so glad it does work though because I ordered two hundred of these pcbs
