Aber die Personen, die mit den Gesichtern der Ausstellungsbesuchern, auch unseren, sich überfallen und niederschlagen war beeindruckend und erschrecken d. Alle Personen auf den Videos waren so gut zu erkennen, dass ich das Gesicht hier verwischen musste. #zkm #ZKMKarlsruhe

I loved how you could see random #ZKM visitors (usually older people) passing through who'd sometimes stop and look at the #GPN23 hack centre in awe.
Imagine expecting to go to an art museum and then being hit with the full brunt of our culture; #hackers on benches with their laptops, colourful LEDs and odd electronic contraptions everywhere, tonnes of #queer and/or #furry people and so much more :D
Bizarr in den #ZKM-Toiletten sind immer diese Phantomtüren: Du hörst es spülen und knallen und erwartest, dass da gleich jemand zu dir ans Waschbecken drängt, aber die Geräusche sind von einem Stock tiefer, weil die Toiletten eine Lücke zum gemeinsamen Fenster haben.
Leute, im ersten Stock der #ZKM-Ausstellung (wo ihr mit #GPN23-Bändchen gratis reindürft) gastiert gerade die Karlsruher Kunsthalle mit Gemälden aus 600 Jahren! :O
Ich hatte keinen Plan und hab nach der Medienkunst-Ausstellung unten mehr desselben erwartet und war baff, was einem dort oben geboten wird! Ihr braucht da sicher drei Stunden allein für die Kunsthalle-Ausstellung, bei gewissenhafter Betrachtung!
Mein Vortrag zur Digitalen Gewalt gestern im #ZKM in Karlsruhe bei der #GPN23 ist online.
Wen betrifft sie? Wer muss sich vor Ferienwohnungen fürchten? Was hat die neue Bundesregierung dazu vor, und warum nicht? Was hat das mit Kommunalpolitik zu tun? Und was kostet das überhaupt?
Aber auch: Was macht es mit Betroffenen, wer hilft ihnen und was macht diese Arbeit schwer? Warum sind gute Passwörter nicht immer eine gute Lösung?

Aujourd’hui on s’est organisé une petite visite au #ZKM à Karlsruhe avec une partie de la team @limitesnumeriques @nolwennm @anaellebeignon + @vi et des copains, c’était trop bien !
Il y a jusqu’au 24 août une expo intitulée “Choose Your Filter! – Browser Art since the Beginnings of the World Wide Web” qui vaut le coup si vous passez dans le coin, plus 2 autres très cool aussi : une sur Waldemar Cordeiro et une qui expose une partie du fond du ZKM.
Heute, 18.5., letzte Gelegenheit die interaktive KI-Installation „Techno-Anima“ zu erleben. Ort: Deutsches Museum München. 4 virtuelle Personen versuchen miteinander im Team zu arbeiten, sich Fragen zu stellen und aufeinander einzugehen. Die Arbeit basiert auf einem Forschungsprojekt am Frauenhofer IAO, das sich mit Multiagentensystemen beschäftigt.
Today it's already 3 weeks since the opening of "The Story Never Ends" exhibition at ZKM Karlsruhe, showcasing around 100 works by 75 artists from the museum's collection of 12,000 artworks, one of the largest and most important media art collections in the world (since the 1950s).
Due to the stress of the recent weeks, I've completely missed posting more pictures of my piece on display there (De/Frag, 2021). It's a custom site-specific version which will keep changing/evolving non-stop for the next 5 months (until the end of the show in late September). The pictures attached are by Clara Runge, the curator of the show. Thank you!

A plea: If you happen to go to ZKM and get to see the piece, please do take & post some pictures — I'm very keen to see snapshots over time (so far I've only had it running for a few weeks, but never for months on end...)

Super pleased to announce that a custom version of De/Frag (2021) will be on display at ZKM Karlsruhe as part of their new milestone show "The Story That Never Ends" from next Saturday, April 5 until September 20. The exhibition features approx. 100 works from their collection of 12,000 works of the past 70 years. It's a true honor to be part of it!

Unlike the original release, which was constrained to only 640x640 pixels, this new custom version runs at 1080x1920 resolution on a large 75" screen, and will continuously evolve over the course of the next 5½ months, i.e. for the entire duration of the exhibition.
De/Frag is a homage and exploration of the classic flood fill algorithm, combined with semi-randomly generated bit/fill patterns, multiple iteration & sorting strategies, creating an endlessly changing tapestry of complex pixel textures and tectonics, whilst revealing the inner workings of the intentionally slowed down core algorithm. It also is an exercise in algorithmic purity, attempting to devise a minimalist generative system producing maximalist variation (relative to its setup).
The downscaled 30 second time lapse shows snapshots of a 20 minute time window, with one frame taken every 5 seconds... In reality, all transitions are continuous and mesmerizing to watch unfold in unexpected way (something the time lapse cannot do justice).
