@echo_pbreyer so many countries in favor of chat control.
@gerbrand @echo_pbreyer sometimes I wonder if IE flag might be better than UK (as we aren't in EU any more), but it really wouldn't surprise me if UK quietly develops and sells the monitoring software or provides some "mutual aid" assistance to EU cops "under the table", especially for surveillance of content in English...
Where is Spain? The white flag?
@echo_pbreyer Why's Spain missing from that list?
@modulux They are the presidency. But of course in favour of their own proposal.
@echo_pbreyer Thank you! That clarifies it. Since I'm Spanish, all I can say is sorry.
@echo_pbreyer this sets a horrifying precedent for privacy, among other things
@echo_pbreyer the additional layer of complexity in case of is that parliamentary elections are happening tomorrow. And it seems to be a toss-up.
@rysiek Usually the old ministers continue business after elections until a new government has been elected
@echo_pbreyer oh totally. But being a lame duck minister will mean a different state of mind, energy to engage with issues, etc, than knowing that you're probably staying for at least part of the next term.
