Anybody with an #activitypub or #atproto or related open social web project planning to go to Web Summit in Lisbon, Portugal, in November? Is that something this community does?
Basically yes. At the last Web Summit in Lisbon we attended with 7 people AP. Did not see anyone from AT but the SOLID folks were there, Sir TimBL and the CEO had a keynote.
This also means, I will rather not go 2025 cause always trying to alternate some events.
/ off topic, about "September"
this was also the cause for photokina/Perpignan but photokina was killed by mobile selfies which brings me to the point to not make all confs in October/November cause now we can consider September again too :)

Well, saw Lisboa, that's worth it ;) Honestly it was really with a focus on Solid, so rather not.

I think we should step rather into UN events, otherwise this will be left to threads and we only have new monopolies … @downey
The best fedi event in 24 was https://digitalcourage.social/@sl007/112597533470606692 but the new NL gov. basically destroyed the event (not worth for only 1 day …)
Also (!) there is the https://fedi.camp/ in Germany left.
