VARIOUS ARTISTS
Un Uomo Da Marciapiede
1975 Italy pressing

An ITALIAN pressing of the soundtrack to Midnight Cowboy?
For two dollars?!?!
Yes, please.

Famous for the Harry Nilsson cover of “Everybody’s Talkin’”, which everybody thinks is his song, but was actually written by the great Fred Neil.

Midnight Cowboy was another one of those movies that was on TV a lot when I was a kid, albeit in heavily edited and butchered form.
Nonetheless, the music will forever live rent-free in my head forever, due to the amount of Saturday and Sunday afternoon viewings of the film that I had as a kid.

KAREN BETH
The Joys Of Life
1969 U.S. pressing

What a hauntingly beautiful record.

Wonderful, spacious folk music; anchored by Karen Beth’s stunning voice and exceptional guitar playing.

This is not something to just throw on and have in the background. You have to sit and be IN these songs.

Little reminders of those great records by ANOTHER Karen, Karen Dalton.

The title track, Nothing Lasts, and Come December are the stand-outs here, but this whole album is wonderful.

I actually found Karen Beth online and reached out to her, and told her how much I love and appreciate this record she made 56 years ago.
She lives around Toronto area, and has had a good career in health and wellness.
Do check this album out if you can.

This was an "accidental" find as I read the obituary of Sly Stone & learned he'd produced pre-JA Grace Slick's "Somebody to Love". YouTube gods sent me here instead of just the song, but this is even better.

A short (5m), sweet & respectful tribute to the daze... including bits of the song produced by no-longer-with-us Sly.
