I like the Mac layout better than WinBlows, have for years, so will be figuring out how to do something similar with Cinnamon.Apps centre bottom, info top right. Maybe a few unobtrusive desklets with time, system status, etc. Don’t know if you can pop the app menus out to top bar like Mac, but not an issue.
