Il suo primo libro di poesie, <em>Things You May Find Hidden in My Ear</em>, ha ricevuto riconoscimenti internazionali, tra cui l’American Book Award e il Palestine Book Award. Nel 2017, ha fondato la Edward Said Library, la prima biblioteca pubblica di lingua inglese a Gaza.</span></p><p><span>Durante il genocidio a Gaza, Abu Toha ha contribuito con articoli e poesie a importanti pubblicazioni internazionali come ‘The New Yorker’, ‘The Atlantic’ e ‘The New York Times Magazine’, offrendo testimonianze dirette delle atrocità vissute dalla popolazione civile.
