It is the mundane setting.</p><p>Kakuyo is a setting of a mix of creepypasta, urban legend, and Japanese mythology, it shapes the kind of creatures my characters have to deal with.</p><p>The <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/Heian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Heian</span></a> court influences a sub-class of those creatures with court etiquette, poetry, and metaphoric speech playing a huge dialog role as well as how those characters interpret the world. I am fortunately not bound to 100% accuracy because it is a shadow court that has persisted in Kakuryo since the Masakado rebellion.
